1. Need 2.0 speakers instead of 2.1 speakers
This law basically holds true, although there are more exceptions than expected, provided that you can find a (pair) excellent subwoofer that will indeed make a pair of small bookshelves emit lower frequencies than beautiful. But generally speaking, 2.1 is still not as good as 2.0.
The cost of an excellent subwoofer is quite high, and most of them on the market can only be booming. It is good to watch movies, but don’t expect to listen to music. However, I am still looking for a subwoofer that is cheap and good quality, hoping to match my small bookshelf to get a clean, basically beautiful low frequency.
Perhaps, a subwoofer specifically designed to enhance the low frequency of a specific bookshelf box for music appreciation can achieve 2.1 better than 2.0 effects. But unless you have practiced it, it is generally not recommended.
2. Need a small speaker (box), not a big speaker (box)
The pursuit of a large speaker horn is the same as the pursuit of a large car space. Although the same series of products from the same audio manufacturer, large-diameter speakers are generally better than small-diameter speakers. However, just like a car, if it is a little bigger, the price will rise immediately, and the drivability will become worse and the fuel consumption will obviously increase. The same is true for speakers. The effect of an 8-inch speaker in 10 square meters is often not even comparable to a 5-inch speaker. For audio, the environment is far more important than the caliber!
On the other hand, in the case of a certain price. The larger the caliber, the harder it is to guarantee the effect. Compact SUV, 200,000 you can even buy BMW, Mercedes-Benz Audi, and the performance configuration is very high. If you want to buy a large car with the same budget, I'm sorry, it has to be a general brand or a domestic product. If you can't use that space, you sacrifice drivability and consume more fuel.
If I really can't figure it out, let's take a look at B&W's 8 series and 6 series to see how much the bigger speaker 6 is. If the effect of the 6 series of big speakers is better than that of the 8 series, then B&W is not slapping itself.
All in all, when the budget is not sufficient, try to choose a small-caliber speaker. Don't worry too much about the problem of unsatisfactory sound. Now a pair of 5-inch excellent speakers has a sound of 20 square meters.
3. Be suitable, not expensive
For audio selection: the most suitable is the best!
Audio is an overall system project, which involves many issues: how big the room is, the type of music you like, budget, front end, and other requirements. It's not the expensive one, but the tailor-made is the most suitable. Especially the environment is really important to the speakers. Playing big speakers in a small environment is not necessarily bad, but it takes too much energy and money.
Does the budget matter? Not important! There are hundreds of desktops, and some are popular for listening to vocals (for example, the base point MC12, only 780, the desktop vocals are very good). With a budget of more than tens of millions of dollars, you can also choose a very good sound system for listening to human voice and string music. A really expensive system has high requirements for audio sources, high environmental requirements, and high requirements for music and recording. Good equipment arrives in an unsuitable environment, coupled with an unsuitable front end, you will have the urge to smash it after listening to it. In many cases, the equipment itself is okay. The problem lies in the front end, the environment and the supporting facilities, which are not in place.
4. To be in place, not to be in place in one step
The easiest suggestion for novices in the process of audio selection is to "increase the XX budget and replace the XX audio with OO audio. One step, less regrets, and less toss in the future". Sounds good, right? In fact, this is a pit, and many novices have budgets ranging from thousands to tens of thousands, or even more. Under the confusion of a group of old burns, the budget for the new burns quickly exceeded many times, and the final result may just be worse (see Article 3 above).
To be in place means: investing in a good sound system will give you great enjoyment every day. As a person who likes music, it is very worthwhile to invest a certain amount of money for it. Many people start at 3,000 yuan every time they change their mobile phones, but they are reluctant to buy a stereo for a few thousand yuan. You need to know that the mobile phone has to be replaced in two years, and the stereo can be used for a few years or more. Although it does not mean that there must be tens of thousands of HIFI or Hi-end, but there is always a few thousand. It's almost the same as a mobile phone, and it can last for many years.
Another layer to be in place is to consider the appropriate budget according to the type of music you like, listening environment, and front-end synthesis. Popular vocals, including string music, tens of thousands will be in place. Increasing the budget is not much better, and may even be worse. If the front end is a computer or portable, the back end does not need to be too good (what makes you increase your budget is a pit, improving the front end is the right thing). The environment is only 10 square meters or even the desktop, a few thousand will do, and tens of thousands will only be booming.
Don't do it in one step means: this is impossible. The reason is very simple. One step in the mouth of a certain old burner is in place, and in the eyes of other old burners, it may just enter the door. Thousands of speakers are very hot in the eyes of many people, but in the eyes of enthusiasts, there are only a few wires. Increasing the budget to tens of thousands is a fever. In the eyes of advanced enthusiasts, it is only an entry-level. 100,000 is awesome, right away, you will find that only a system with hundreds of thousands of people can listen to it, haha.
5. Need bass, not overweight bass
Just like the earphone fever, anyone who needs heavy bass when exporting is a first-time fever (laughs). This makes sense, because high- and middle-end equipment, whether it is headphones or audio, does not have heavy bass. Anything that uses heavy bass as a selling point, without exception, is entry-level equipment (not even entry level, laugh again).
The reason is simple, it's not that the bass of the high and mid-end equipment is not good. When these devices are playing music, the low frequency is very powerful, especially the sound. When playing large-scale symphonic music, the overwhelming aura is not too much to describe the ground shaking. But is the low frequency heavy? It is not heavy at all, you will only feel the low frequency that is elastic, textured and stress-free.
Is low frequency important? Very important, very important! It's just the texture and dive of the low frequency, as well as the speed. There are many more important factors than the low frequency: the thickness and density of the intermediate frequency; the equalization of the three-frequency; the smoothness and correctness of the high-frequency; the resolution; the sound field positioning; the transparency; the speed of the three-frequency... No less than low frequency, especially low frequency sense of volume. Appropriate low frequency volume is the most important!
Turn your attention away from the low frequencies, if you want a good set of equipment for getting started.
6. Be passive, not active
For low prices, active audio is undoubtedly an advantage. The first is that the cost can be lower, and the active box with integrated power amplifier can achieve more cost optimization, and the active profit can also be made at a low point when the volume is large. More importantly, there are excellent active speakers like Acoustic MC12, 13, and 14, which can make people enjoy music very comfortably at a low price; easy to use, such as Acoustic MC series, just plug in a computer. Sound, you don’t even need to install the driver; it does not take up space, etc.
However, there are not only advantages of being active. Once the budget increases, not only does it have fewer options, but the price/performance ratio becomes very poor. The disadvantages of active are also very obvious:
First of all, volume is a matter. The active power amplifier can only be placed in the speaker, and the power is small. Once the power is increased, the volume occupied by the power amplifier will increase significantly; if the volume of the speaker does not change, the cost will be much more independent than the power amplifier (after all, That thick board). Therefore, almost all mid-range active devices now use Class D power amplifiers. Unfortunately, the sacrifice of the high-efficiency Class D sound is still obvious, and its thrust is far inferior to the Class AB of the same power, let alone the Class A;
Secondly, heat dissipation is a matter. A large heat sink is a sign of a high-power amplifier, and a good-sounding Class A amplifier requires a huge heat sink; it is not a problem to install an active speaker amplifier when it is small. Need to dissipate heat, other places also need (such as transformer). The internal heat dissipation conditions of the speakers are extremely poor, and a lot of sound-absorbing cotton is needed; this is really a problem!
Third, the problem of interference: the speaker is magnetic, and it is the source of interference (don’t believe you put the phone or the display next to the speaker to see what happens), the electromagnetic waves emitted by the coil will not be small when the coil moves inside; and this pair of amplifiers Circuit interference may be difficult to eliminate (especially the weak current part);
Fourth, the problem of vibration: put your hands on the speakers that play music and you'll know. The anti-vibration problem must be considered when the power amplifier is put separately, and the vibration in the speaker is a big deal. It doesn't matter when the requirements are low, the high requirements are basically dead.
Fifth, there is a specialization problem in the technical industry: only a very small number of manufacturers can be very good in many fields, and even then they have their own best. And if a manufacturer's speakers are also very good, the amplifier is also very good, then the price is very good! If you want such a cow equipment, you must first be moat. However, we are not in a trench.
Generally speaking, mid-to-high-end actives are always a representative of compromise and low cost performance. If you want to be cost-effective or uncompromising, let it be passive. Of course, one of the disadvantages of passive is the problem of collocation. Finding the ideal collocation is quite a laborious task. You need to find, audition, and finally choose. For people who like to toss, this is of course fun. However, it is a big problem for people who don't like tossing. Therefore, the author is also planning to launch two pairs of speakers, and at the same time find a third-party manufacturer to match the appropriate power amplifier, with a good recommendation. Solve these two problems.
Seven, receive the goods by ear, not soft text
Lao Shao generally has a catch phrase "receive the goods by ear", which means very simple: you can only count after hearing it. There are many people who blindly block headphones or related products (buy them if you don't listen), because they are small and the price is not too expensive (relative to the audio), and it is easy to resell second-hand products, and they will not lose much. But the stereo is different. You lose a lot when you sell second-hand products, and it is relatively difficult to sell second-hand (expensive equipment, for cheap active devices, you can ignore it). Therefore, I must listen to it. After all, things worth tens of millions of yuan (some are even more expensive) are unsatisfactory and sometimes I want to smash them.
The best way is to find audiophiles who have their own favorite audio. The effect of hearing at an audiophile’s home is the most guaranteed, and the environment is similar. Copy one set if appropriate, and avoid a lot of detours. Travel expenses are usually not a matter. If you are bought by online poisonous articles and want to smash them, the loss is far more than the travel expenses.
When going to the audio shop, the biggest thing is the personal sales of the salesperson. Don't listen to this kind of ear breeze. Many sales are best at stepping on others and then pushing yourself up. It's best to interrupt such words directly. Don’t believe your ears, most of those sales don’t understand it better than you. Even if you are a rookie, your ears are the same as others (except for the deaf or old man), and a good sound system will make you comfortable and adrenaline up.
On the other hand, don't believe it too much in third-party review articles. Although the third party has very rich listening experience, the listening level is also very high. But there are really very few objective third parties, or there are few pys with the manufacturers (you don't necessarily have to collect money, you have to understand this!). However, the unreliable situation of the second party is actually no better than that of the third party. On the one hand, the level is really a matter; on the other hand, many people simply don't allow others to say bad things about their equipment. However, many people actually believe that the first party’s blustering seconds are super flat, which is really drunk.
8. Keep low-key goods, don’t blow goods
The most frequently heard sentence in reality is: you get what you pay for. But for audio headsets, I have to say: This is an extremely absurd P sentence! Of course, there is another saying that enthusiasts often say: you get what you pay for, a dime pays for it, and a dollar pays for a third. This sentence is a bit more reliable, but it is still problematic in most cases.
The chaos of the domestic audio headset market far exceeds the expectations of many people. Various kinds of goods are emerging in endlessly, and various kinds of goods and furniture are flickered on a certain treasure. As a novice, the chance of encountering this kind of goods is 100% (don't think you can make an exception, there is nothing).
How to identify, are there any selection techniques? Yes, look at the introduction, the more you boast, the more you claim that you have "professional audio for decades", the more you boast of your own skills, the more you claim to be a "tuning master", the less you can't ask for it. Really good products tend to be simple and simple, and tend to be low-key. They are introduced in a few sentences. What speakers and devices are used, what music is suitable for, what are the characteristics of the sound, and how the internal work is done. That's it, really good product introductions are often like this!
The same is true for recruiting people in my own department, all kinds of bluffs in my mouth, recruiting is the worst thing to do, but it is a good way to make small reports. People who really do things often don't slander and slander.
Nine, toss, not just toss equipment
The stereo is not a headset. You can buy it and connect it to the line and plug it in. Even the earphone system needs to be matched and burned. The sound is more complicated, except for matching. Speakers need to be burned, power amplifiers need to be burned (especially tube amplifiers). More importantly, the stereo is to make a sound, and the sound can reach your ears only through the environment (the earphones are good, they can reach the ears directly). Therefore, the final effect you hear is the result of the combined effect of sound and environment.
So for a speaker, especially many classic speakers and amplifiers, really don't just say No casually. There are too many reasons for the bad sound. The cooking is not cooked on one hand; the positioning is on the other hand; the environment is on the other hand. As an audio player, it is very common (normal) not to have a good sound at the beginning, don't rush to the conclusion that "domestic equipment is not good", look for other reasons first! Try a lot of positioning and tidy up the room (add some furniture, sofa or something), the effect will often vary greatly. Even if your room is small, it won't work anymore. It has nothing to do with the equipment!
I bought the equipment, and the sound is not good. It is much more effective than upgrading the equipment. However, it is a pity that most people can't get rid of the urge to upgrade equipment...
10. Music is needed, not stereo
The audio system is supposed to serve music. However, nowadays, there are many users who use stereos to sing K, play movies, and play games. There are indeed many stereos for this service, which are cheap and sufficient. But using these speakers for pure music appreciation can easily spoil the taste.
In order to give people the impression of high resolution and high HIFI, many speakers are pretty good (in fact, the headset is the same, hehe). The loudspeaker needs to be large, and the speaker needs to be large. However, due to cost constraints, the speakers are made from floor-to-ceiling goods. The speakers are beautiful in appearance but may not be strengthened at all. The low frequencies that are released are just mixed. The high frequency extension must go up, and the sense of volume must go up. However, the tweeter is limited in cost, so do not think about softness, plus the high frequency, it is called a bright. This kind of boxes is not limited to active ones, and a bunch of cheap and "hifi" boxes on the Internet are roughly the same. Listening to this kind of box is very exciting at first, the low frequency is fierce, the high frequency is bright, and the sound is very enjoyable to analyze. It's a pity that it is an illusion. After listening to it for a while, you will find that listening to music with them is really tired (not tolerant of listening)! In addition, the frequency divider circuit and components are not in place, and many people have not really experienced this kind of out-of-the-box feeling, even some of them use mid-to-high-end equipment.
A good sound system must first have a good mid-range frequency, then the high frequency must be supple, and the low frequency must have texture and speed. It sounds good if the intermediate frequency is good, and it is comfortable to listen to. High frequency and supple, not tired after listening for a long time! The low frequency has texture and speed, and the listening feeling is relaxed, comfortable and stress-free. This kind of audio may not necessarily give you the feeling of high quality at the beginning, but in fact, this is the real quality! How bright the treble, how much bass, and how loud the sound is, this is just the sound. A person who is awesome has never been of high quality, and calmness and calmness are the performance of quality. The same goes for audio! Really good speakers are very quiet, even if the sound pressure is high, it will not make people feel noisy.
feel.
